Carmen Miranda was a Portuguese born Brazilian samba singer/actress most popular in the 1940s and 1950s.Carmen the entertainer, was one of the highest paid artists in Hollywood and a very popular Broadway star.
She appeared in motion pictures culturally clad in a hat topped with tropical fruit- which has become her iconic visual identity and has been channelled in contemporary fashion.
Miranda was one of the highest paid entertainers of her time and def the most celebrated Brazilian of all time.
Known for her over the top and festive attire, she achieved definite stardom in her motion pictures casted in musical roles.
Carmen has most definitely secured her spot on the style icon list.
